Preparations for this year’s traditional event Days of Srpska in Serbia, planned to take place in the first half of September, have started with today’s meeting between the Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, and the head of Srpska Representative Office, Mlađen Cicović.

The meeting was held at the Republic of Srpska Representation in Belgrade, and interlocutors expressed the expectation that this year’s event would be held in the traditional format, after being organized as six collage TV shows last year due to the coronavirus.

Klokić told reporters that this event had become one of the most important events of the Republic of Srpska outside its borders.

According to him, the aim is for the citizens and public of Serbia to learn about the Republic of Srpska in best and top quality way, and for Srpska to show all the achievements it can boast in culture, creativity, science, sports and other fields.

– This year, I hope we will hold the event under pre-pandemic conditions, so we expect to present ourselves in many cities in Serbia and to present the accurate picture of the Republic of Srpska – said Klokić.

He expects the Days of Srpska in Serbia to start at the highest level as in previous years, if epidemic conditions allow.

– The aim is to open the event perhaps in Belgrade, gathering a large number of officials from Srpska and Serbia, to make its beginning official – stated Klokić.

Cicović said that preparations for this year’s event would begin today, and noted that the Representation had visited many cities in the previous period and agreed on a significant part of the programs and program activities, and that the program would be defined with Minister Klokić.

According to him, where to start the event should be defined with Klokić, and in addition to Belgrade, options include Kruševac, Kraljevo, Novi Sad.

He added that the Representation had some proposals on how to implement the programs in a slightly differing way in some ten cities in Serbia this year, the same way they would be implemented in the city of this event’s opening.

This means, Cicović added, that in those cities a complete program and presence of the highest officials of Srpska will be organized, their composition depending on the subject of Srpska’s cooperation with that particular city in Serbia.

– We will try to have one program in at least ten cities, approximately at the level of the ceremonial opening of the Days of Srpska in Serbia – said Cicović.

The event Days of Srpska in Serbia is of special importance because it summarizes in seven days all programs and program activities aimed at encouraging overall cooperation between Srpska and Serbia.

This covers science, education, culture, so that those seven days every year include visiting more than 20 cities in Serbia, presenting the economy, culture, science and art of that time in Srpska, and what Srpska wishes to offer in mutual cooperation with Serbia.

Last year, due to the situation with the coronavirus, the event was held through six collage shows via the RTRS public service, and all of them were broadcast on more than 40 regional and local TV stations in Serbia via RTS.
