At yesterday’s session, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Resolution on the establishment of the Cyrillic Museum in Rača near Bajina Bašta, which will significantly contribute to the preservation, promotion and study of the Cyrillic script, as one of the basic elements of national identity.

The Cyrillic Museum, located in a former school building in Rača, is planned to present the history, development, beauty and practicality of the Serbian script, as well as the achievements and importance of the Rača Literary and Copying School.

Future visitors to this museum will have modern technologies at their disposal during their tour of the exhibition.

The establishment of this cultural institution fulfills the conditions for implementing measures necessary for the protection and preservation of the Cyrillic script as the native script, as well as for raising awareness of the importance of its use.
