The tenth Sa Srcem u Kolu event was organized by the Vuk Stefanović Karadžić Serbian Cultural Center from the German city of Rastatt. The folklore festival with the idea, from the very beginning, of gathering people, connecting generations, preserving, but also experiencing tradition here and now with all festival participants through kolo. Over the past ten years, many societies from Germany, Switzerland, Serbia, Republic of Srpska, Austria, etc. have participated, and many unbreakable friendships have been created, which came to the festival with their hearts in kolo and thus returned home, only more fulfilled and grateful for all the beautiful moments experienced.
Welcoming the attendees, the president of the Vuk Stefanović Karadžić SCC from Rastatt, Danijel Tadić, said that: ‘This festival is not only about dance and song. It has always been about people, about the smiles of children, about the hugs of friends, about socializing after the performance and that invisible connection between us.’ It is a festival where not only performances are followed, but also belonging and what unites everyone at this event are celebrated, no matter where they come from.
The participating societies were Izvor FMS St. Gallen in Switzerland, Serbian Center Stuttgart, Kolo KHD Frankfurt, in addition to the host members of the Vuk Stefanović Karadžić SCC. All of them showed true folklore skills, and for some this was their first performance on stage. The audience offered a warm welcome and enjoyed, and included protopresbyter-staurophor Aleksandar Škorić from Karlsruhe, president of the Union of Serbian Associations in Germany Dragan Ivašković, president of the St. Sava SCC from Gaggenau Danijel Kljajić. The attendees also included the presidents and boards of the societies that performed at the festival, Darinka Vicentijević from Stuttgart Serbian Center, Miodrag Cvetković from Izvor St. Gallen, Switzerland, and vice president of Kolo Frankfurt Nikola Novaković.
‘These ten years of work, effort and friendship remind us why we do this – because of the love of dance, language and customs. We believe that this festival is the crown of our work so far, but also a call to continue – even stronger, more joyful and better connected,’ said Danijel Tadić on behalf of the hosts.
Closing the tenth anniversary festival, he added a big, sincere BRAVO to all the dancers who had performed, as well as to the young, charming and very talented program host Sanja Stojanović. Gratitude was extended to everyone who had contributed to organizing this festival – to dancers’ parents and club members, to dancers themselves, and to the artistic directors and friends of the Center. ‘Without you, such an anniversary would not be possible,’ added Tadić, closing the tenth Sa Srcem u Kolu festival.
