One of the oldest Serb clubs in Austria, Vidovdan from Linz, celebrated the eponymous Slava. After a long interruption mainly due to the pandemic, the members and friends of this club gathered in the premises of the association to celebrate the important day. Representatives of the associations Nikola Tesla and Gornjak also attended. Protoiereus Stavrophore Dragan consecrated the Slava cake together with deacon Đorđije Mićić.

It brings joy to see new energy in Vidovdan with the arrival of several young people to the head of the association, which could herald the success that this club had in the past decades.

– It is good that we are all together again in Vidovdan, at the Slava which is the greatest signpost for all of us. This association originated several new ones, which is certainly a warning that we do not need divisions – Protoiereus Dragan said in his sermon.

Darko Tripković thanked the guests on behalf of the club, and pointed out that he was overjoyed to have the opportunity to greet them.

– We are grateful primarily to Protoiereus Dragan, but also to all of you who found time to celebrate our Slava together. We will endeavor to make this club a permanent place of gathering, above all for young people, and thus to preserve our tradition – said Tripković.

The organization of the Slava included selfless efforts of Siniša Jelić, who was active previously in this association, in addition to Tripković and Goran Vukčević. Praise is due also to all the other members who prepared a rich Lenten feast.
