As part of his official visit to Italy, Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation Zlatan Klokić visited the Confederation of European Employers’ and Professionals’ Associations (AEPI), where he met with the President of the Confederation, Mino Dinoi. During the meeting, they discussed ways to connect businessmen from the Republic of Srpska and investors from Italy with the aim of improving economic cooperation and increasing foreign trade.
Dr Dinoi said the Confederation’s work focused on internationalization of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises, and supporting investments outside Italy, and added that there were already several companies interested in the Republic of Srpska market.
Minister Klokić informed his interlocutor about the favorable business conditions in the Republic of Srpska, and the support offered to foreign investors when investing. On that occasion, he also proposed organizing a visit by a Republic of Srpska business delegation to Rome in order to begin direct discussions between companies on cooperation opportunities.
AEPI acts as an umbrella organization of small and medium-sized enterprises, which brings together around 40 affiliated associations and represents approximately 160,000 companies and 50,000 professionals. The focus of the Confederation’s work is on practical support to business, influencing economic policies and strengthening its role in the national and international economy.
In Rome, the Minister met with Senator Giusy Versace and Italian Parliament Member Luca Squeri.
In separate meetings, they discussed the possibilities of strengthening cooperation between the Republic of Srpska and Italy, and European integration process. The advice and experience exchange on European policies and further steps on that path were particularly useful.
