During his visit to Italy, Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation Zlatan Klokić met with the Deputy Director General for the Promotion of Italy and Economic Internationalization at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Fabrizio Lobasso, and representatives of the Department for Europe, Balkans Unit.

The meeting discussed the potential to intensify cooperation between the Republic of Srpska and Italy in all areas, with a special focus on economy and investments.

Minister Klokić informed the interlocutors about the status of cooperation with Italy to date, the political situation in BiH and progress in European integration, and proposed joint cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in organizing mutual visits of delegations from the Republic of Srpska and Italy.

During the meeting, Ambassador Lobasso proposed organizing a Republic of Srpska business mission and delegation visiting Rome in order to present economic potential and connect chambers of commerce and business associations from the Republic of Srpska and Italy.

The interlocutors agreed to intensify cooperation aimed at establishing better economic links and implementing joint activities and projects.

Minister Klokić also informed his Italian colleagues about the problem that the introduction of the new EU entry system had caused for carriers and forwarders in the Republic of Srpska and BiH, and asked the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for assistance in resolving this issue in cooperation with the European Commission.
