The Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska Borivoje Golubović attended the opening ceremony of the Year of Hungarian-Serbian Culture event, which was held at the Serbian Church Museum in Szentendre.

‘I am honored by the invitation to attend in my capacity as Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska today’s very important event – the opening ceremony of the event Year of Hungarian-Serbian Culture, which will provide an opportunity for artists and other cultural workers from the Republic of Serbia, Hungary, and hopefully also the Republic of Srpska, to present the achievements of the two peoples in this area,’ said Minister Borivoje Golubović. ‘The culture of both Serbs and Hungarians, along with the Christian faith, is the basis of identity. Serbs and Hungarians are neighboring peoples having exceptional political relations, but also striving to present themselves culturally and spiritually to each other, to get to know each other and accept each other, as friends, neighbors, for generations to come,’ said Minister Golubović.

He stated his awareness of the level of commitment of Hungary, its Government and people to preserving the identity of the Serbian community in Hungary.

‘We are grateful for the assistance and understanding directed towards the Serbian community within Hungary, but also for the determination to apply the same matrix to the Serbian people in the region, and we are very grateful for that,’ said Minister Borivoje Golubović.

During his official visit to Hungary, Minister Borivoje Golubović spoke with the Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, Balázs Hankó, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, and His Eminence Metropolitan Lukijan of Buda.
