The 27th May meetings of diaspora writers were organized by the Frankfurt Association of Writers Sedmica. According to tradition, they began with a formal reception at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia, where Consul General Branko Radovanović greeted all present. The verses of poets Vlasta Cenić from Doljevac and Danica Dana Dodić from Paris opened the program of the diaspora writers’ May meetings. The full-day program continued the next day in the Gutleut town hall, with a play for children Ala je lep ovaj svet (what a wonderful world) and Majska pesnička noć (poet’s May night).

Poets from the diaspora and the motherland spoke their verses. Traditionally, gold, silver and bronze Orpheus were awarded for the best unpublished poems. This year’s Gold Orpheus went to Vlasta Cenić from Doljevac, Silver to Danijela Božičković Radulović from Petrovac na Mlavi, and Bronze to Tatjana Milovanović from Frankfurt.

This year’s jury members were Danka Spasojević, Dragana Tipsarević and Dragan Jeftić.

‘Congratulations to all the winners and may you have much success in your future creation!’

The meetings ended on Sunday, 14 May, after a tour of the sights of the city of Frankfurt.

‘Warmest farewell to everyone, until we meet again’, read the message from the management of the Sedmica Writers’ Association from Frankfurt.
