The Minister of Culture and Information of Serbia, Maja Gojković, and the Director of the Forum of Slavic Cultures, Andreja Richter, assessed that networking and cooperation of FSC member countries in the field of culture were extremely important for making the culture of the Slavic area more recognizable.
At the meeting in Belgrade, Gojković emphasized that it was important for Serbia to establish more intensive bilateral relations in the field of culture with the countries of Slavic cultures, and added that there was room to increase the presence of the culture of Slavic countries.
Gojković and Richter emphasized the importance of preserving and protecting cultural heritage, and discussed more dynamic cooperation in the coming period in the field of promoting the culture of the Slavic-speaking countries, announced the Ministry of Culture and Information of Serbia. They also agreed on the importance of promoting the culture of the Slavic peoples within UNESCO and other international organizations.
Gojković, who is the President of the FSC Board, spoke with Richter about the plans and priorities for FSC work in the coming period, especially on preparing the new five-year work program from 2022 to 2027.
Among FSC projects, Richter pointed out the edition 100 Slavic Novels, the first literary project of the Forum, which is now the largest international cultural, literary and promotional project of Slavic literature and presentation of Slavic literature with 108 authors in nine countries. This edition is currently also the largest project involving Serbian literature.
Richter noted the importance of the Živa award, given to the best museums in Slavic countries, whose purpose is to recognize, promote and reward projects and practice in the museum sector. She emphasized that museums in Serbia had made great progress in their work, and Gojković noted that Serbia had recently passed the Law on Museum Activities, which would further improve and modernize the work of museums and the protection of cultural heritage. The interlocutors agreed to organize an international conference in Belgrade as part of the Živa award ceremony in September, if the epidemiological situation allows.
