The Trebinje City Cultural and Artistic Society Alat performed at the New Year’s concert Preserve Serbian Customs in the Austrian city of Graz, as part of the event Herzegovina Days in Austria.

A member of the Trebinje CAS Alat, Tamara Šišić, said they were proud to be part of the first New Year’s concert organized by the CAS Sveti Sava from Graz.

‘Herzegovinian ganga resonating through Austria really made the heart full. Cultural and artistic societies from Graz, Linz, Vienna, Salzburg, Gmunden participated in the concert, as well as our brothers and sisters from Drvar,’ said Šišić.

She added that they owed special gratitude to the Head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Austria, Mladen Filipović, and to the CAS Sveti Sava Graz.

The Head of Trebinje City’s Culture Department, Slađana Skočajić, said it was significant to have the Trebinje CAS Alat present the indigenous creativity of Herzegovina at the New Year’s concert hosted by the CAS Sveti Sava Graz.

She added that it was nice that Serbs living in Graz, Austria, were able to enjoy the traditional Herzegovinian song and dance.

‘The City Cultural and Artistic Society Alat has thus contributed to preserving Serbian traditions in the diaspora,’ said Skočajić.

The New Year’s concert Preserve Serbian Customs concluded the multi-day event Herzegovina Days in Austria.

The event was organized by the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Austria.
