The only Serbian club in the state of Burgenland, the Kragujevac October Cultural and Sports Association, organized an event on Saturday evening called When the Song Blooms to present how Serbian tradition and culture are being preserved in this part of Austria. Folk dances were the most beautiful means for the host to show that young people do not forget the roots of their ancestors and where they come from.
The rich cultural and artistic program, which began with the Serbian anthem, was attended by the Zavičaj CAS from Tulln, Semberija i Majevica CAS from Pressbaum, Krajišnik CAS from Wilhelmsburg, J.J. Zmaj CAS from Sollenau and Jedinstvo CAS from Vienna.
The event was attended by Minister Counselor at the Serbian Embassy in Austria Nemanja Joksimović, Head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Austria and President of the Association of Serbs in Austria Mladen Filipović, Vice President of the Association of Serbs in Austria Žika Petrović. The event was supported by the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region of the Serbian Foreign Affairs Ministry, and Republic of Srpska Representation in Austria.
The wonderful evening also had a humanitarian character to raise funds for the organization Serbs for Serbs.
Incidentally, Kragujevac October recently obtained new premises, which allow the society to work at full capacity. The premises are located in Klingenbach, and classes in the Serbian language have also been launched there.
