The Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, said that it was of great significance that the jubilee – 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Srpska – was solemnly marked in Belgrade, thus continuing the tradition that was briefly interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
– This is a date that is very significant for the Republic of Srpska, and it is important to note that the Republic of Srpska was created and its Constitution adopted before the war in BiH – Klokić told reporters in Belgrade.
The President of the SNSD Banja Luka City Board, Vlado Đajić, who attended the jubilee marking in Belgrade tonight, told Srna that preserving the institutions and the Constitution was crucial for the survival of the Republic of Srpska.
– The bitter truth is that Serbs experienced terrible suffering in the Second World War because they did not have their own state, and in the war of the 1990s we would not have managed to save the people or territories if we did not have the Army of the Republic of Srpska and police – Đajić pointed out.
He said that marking the 30th anniversary of the Constitution and the Day of the Republic of Srpska in Belgrade was significant, and noted that Srpska and Serbia had very good cooperation.
– Without the support of Serbia, it would certainly be very difficult and almost impossible for us to survive in this area – Đajić added.
Since 2015, the Republic of Srpska Representation in Serbia has been organizing solemn marking of the Day of the Republic of Srpska and day of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Srpska in Belgrade.
