The Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, thanked the guests from Austria who had come for the celebration of the Day of the Republic and thus supported with their presence the efforts to defend the institutional integrity and legitimacy of the Republic of Srpska.

The Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Austria organized a luncheon in Banja Luka for representatives of Serbian associations and businessmen from Austria who had come to the celebration of 9 January.

Klokić noted the importance of cooperation with the diaspora in Austria on preserving the integrity of the institutions of the Republic of Srpska, announced the Republic of Srpska Representation in Austria.

– We want to connect even more closely, to develop cooperation in the areas of social, cultural, economic and scientific life, and at the same time to strengthen the ties between the diaspora and the Republic of Srpska and thus contribute to the preservation of our identity – Klokić said.

He noted that the Day of the Republic of Srpska was a holiday of peace and Serbian right to freedom.

Around thirty representatives of leading Serbian diaspora associations in Austria are attending the celebration of 9 January, the Day of the Republic of Srpska.

The Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Austria, Mladen Filipović, said that it was important to have representatives of Serbian associations from the Austrian provinces attend the celebration of the Republic Day, because they thus sent a message of community, united around the idea of supporting Srpska.

- These are the associations that gather a large number of our clubs. Our diaspora’s contribution is significant in terms of supporting the institutions and citizens of the Republic of Srpska – Filipović said.

The luncheon was also attended by the chair of the Banja Luka Committee for Assistance to Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, Milorad Arlov, who announced implementation of humanitarian projects in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska’s Austrian Representation.
