The Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, said that the line ministry would work actively on improving the sphere of digitalization in Srpska, to make it easier for citizens and businessmen to obtain personal and other documents needed in daily life and business.

Klokić said in Banja Luka that the Ministry under his helm had a coordinating role in the Digital Europe program, which BiH had joined earlier and which provided for acknowledging Srpska’s positions.

– The goal is to improve digitalization sphere in Srpska and for people and our businessmen to save time on the activities such as issuing personal documents and those needed for business, to spend less time at counters. This is very important for Srpska and its economy – Klokić explained.

He said that modern Europe and the region were many steps ahead in this respect.

– We must be active to catch up with these trends in the sphere of digitalization. And thus become part of modern Europe – said Klokić at the conference European Digital Innovation Hubs Network: Partner Organization Services, held in the premises of Srpska’s National Assembly in Banja Luka.

The Minister of Communications and Transport in the Council of Ministers, Edin Forto, said that BiH, which was lagging behind in this respect, should do much more in terms of digital transformation, to the benefit of citizens and businessmen.

– This would mean the possibility of electronic communication with the state etc. without paper or visiting counters. The development of electronic services for citizens and companies is something that we have to start with in this regard – said Forto and added that these projects should be developed in BiH since they could be the basis for withdrawing considerable funds from the EU.

Bojan Ćudić from the Edih consortium of partner organizations from the Republic of Srpska, which organized the conference in cooperation with the European Integration and Regional Cooperation Committee of Srpska’s parliament, said that their partners were Onex Digital Innovation Hub, Banja Luka and Istočno Sarajevo Universities, M:tel and Lanaco companies, and Srpska’s Agency for Intermediary, IT and Financial Services.

– This network includes a set of services aimed at facilitating the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises here – said Ćudić.

The conference aims to present the activities of the European Hubs Network to client companies, and its participants are service providers in the field of digital transformation, as well as representatives of companies looking for specific IT solutions to improve their business.
