The Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, said that leaderships of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia would send a message of unity by joint attendance at the reception in Belgrade on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the first Constitution of Srpska and its Republic Day.
‘We need unity on both sides of the Drina in order to be together regardless of geopolitical developments and international pressures on both Srpska and Serbia,’ said Klokić before the reception.
He noted that Srpska and Serbia were there for each other, supporting each other, and pointed out the high importance of Serbian officials participating in the celebration of 32 years since the adoption of Srpska’s first Constitution and 9 January – Day of the Republic in Belgrade.
‘On both sides of the Drina, there is one and the same, fraternal nation, divided only by the Drina and sharing everything else,’ said Klokić.
The traditional reception on the occasion of the Republic of Srpska Day and 32 years since the adoption of its Constitution is being held in Belgrade in the presence of the highest officials of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia.
The reception at the Home of the Serbian Army is attended by His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, envoy of the Serbian President, Nikola Selaković, Presidents of the Assemblies of Srpska and Serbia, Nenad Stevandić and Vladimir Orlić.
The reception, which started with the national anthems of Serbia and Republic of Srpska, was attended also by the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education, Željko Budimir, Minister of the Interior, Siniša Karan, Minister of Labor, War Veterans and Disabled Persons’ Protection, Danijel Egić, Minister of Energy and Mining, Petar Đokić, Srpska’s Minister of Transport and Communications, Nedeljko Čubrilović, Serbian Health Minister, Danica Grujičić, and head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office, Mlađen Cicović, who is also the host of the reception.
The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, Chair of the Council of Peoples of the Republic of Srpska, Srebrenka Golić, Darko Mladić, son of General Ratko Mladić, representatives of the diplomatic corps, prominent figures from the world of culture, science, art, economy and sports of Serbia and Srpska, academics, generals, scientists, representatives of homeland associations and other guests.
The tenth, jubilee reception in Belgrade to mark two significant dates – the Day of the Republic of Srpska and the anniversary of the promulgation of its first Constitution, is organized by the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia.
