An investment forum presenting investment offer in the Republic of Srpska was held last evening in Vienna, organized by the Republic of Srpska Investment Development Bank (IDB RS) and Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Austria.

On this occasion, Austrian businessmen and entrepreneurs were informed about RS IDB activities, specific investment offers, and presentations covered also the stimulating tax policy and key projects of the Government of the Republic of Srpska.

RS IDB management, led by acting director Dražen Vrhovac, presented the current and planned projects in the field of public investments, in addition to the industrial zones operating successfully throughout the Republic of Srpska.

The emphasis is on economic sectors in the field of transport infrastructure, process manufacturing (wood processing and metal processing), food production and tourism sectors.

Acting director of the IDBRS, Dražen Vrhovac invited Austrian businessmen to develop long-term and strategic partnerships through direct contact with the institutions of the Republic of Srpska. He said that IDBRS continued to expand the database of domestic and foreign companies and their projects for the purpose of mutual business connecting aimed at quality investments in the Republic of Srpska, and that the Investment Forum was one of the ways.

Zoran Talić, acting director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Sector, presented to a group of Austrian entrepreneurs some of the public projects to be implemented in the Republic of Srpska, as well as offers for direct investments in companies in the Republic of Srpska.

The Investment Forum brought together Serbian diaspora businessmen and Austrian business community representatives, and the event was also attended by the Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Austria, Mladen Filipović, who addressed the present.

Filipović noted the high importance of direct contacts with Austrian businessmen to enable our institutions to connect directly with representatives of the business community of Austria in order to establish new business contacts and expand cooperation.

‘It is important that we work on strengthening the institutional ties between the Republic of Srpska and Austria. The Representation remains committed to strengthening economic ties with Austria, and support on this path comes from our institutions and our diaspora, which are very committed to promoting the potential of the Republic of Srpska and work actively on cooperation in various fields,’ said Filipović.

The Investment Forum in Vienna is held in cooperation with the Austrian-Serbian Business Forum and the Association of Serbian Businessmen in this country.

Due to the good response and interest in potential investments in the Republic of Srpska, the bilateral meetings with the IDBRS delegation continued, at the request of Austrian businessmen.
