Austrian investors have expressed great interest in investments in metallurgy, construction and wood industry in the Republic of Srpska, and further contacts open the possibility for cooperation in other fields, said the head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Austria, Mladen Filipović.
Filipović expressed satisfaction over Austrian investors showing interest after visiting Prijedor and Banja Luka at the end of July, where they had the opportunity to learn about the potentials and opportunities for investing in the Republic of Srpska.
There is interest in various forms of investment, and we expect to organize several other visits in the coming period, which will enable us to define cooperation modalities more specifically - said Filipović for Srna.
He stated that first group of potential Austrian investors had spent two days visiting the Republic of Srpska, including the owner and director of a company for real estate investment, construction, sale and rental in Austria, Europe and the world, Josef Fuchshuber, the president of the board of the company Procon, management consultant in industry, banking and insurance, professor at the Vienna University of Technology and Economics, Karl Wagner, and financial advisor in private banking in Switzerland and Austria, Arnaud Aleksandar Sardelic.
He noted that the visit by the Austrian investors was the result of a Republic of Srpska Investment Development Bank /IDB/ delegation visiting Vienna in the first half of June and meeting on that occasion with representatives of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, Serb business diaspora, and about 40 Austrian businessmen, with the support of the Representative Office.
At that time, the Srpska IDB representatives presented investment opportunities and capital projects of the Republic of Srpska to Austrian entrepreneurs - said Filipović.
