The Order of the Republic of Serbia on a large necklace was awarded to the Serb member and Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik.

Dodik was awarded the Order by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

– A sleepless night is behind me, because the joy of the decoration is not small. I will wear it with pride, as a member of the same people from the Republic of Srpska. Together with Vučić, we have built Serbia, but also the Republic of Srpska. It is more powerful, better, politically stronger. I had the opportunity to cooperate with previous leaderships of Serbia, but this is the best period of cooperation. I am glad that this is happening on Vidovdan, which has been connecting our people since ancient times – said Dodik.

Dodik said that he saw this recognition as his love for Serbia, and added that it was dedicated to all his associates.

– This is the crown of my personal and political engagement – Dodik added.

The Russian and Chinese Presidents, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, among others, have been awarded this highest recognition of Serbia.

The Order of the Republic of Serbia was established on 26 October 2009, by the Law on Decorations of the Republic of Serbia, and introduced in 2010. It is awarded to presidents of states or governments for outstanding merits done for the Serbian state and people.

The author of the Order of the Republic of Serbia is Mitar Petković. Its elements are necklace, Order insignia and star.

The necklace consists of 19 parts, stylized representations of a cross, a Nemanjić eagle and an acanthus, symbols of the righteous in paradise, being details taken from medieval stone ornaments.

Order insignia, i.e. a cross with the coat of arms of Serbia in the center, is worn on a necklace. Identical order insignia on a star with points made of beads, is worn separately on the left side of the breast.
