The Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, is in Romania, where he met with representatives of Serbs and the president of the Union of Serbs in Romania and member of the Romanian Parliament, Ognjen Krstić.
Dodik donated EUR 100,000 to the local school, church and Serbs’ Union, said the president of the Union, Ognjen Krstić.
– It is an honor and a pleasure to be visited by a great man who cares about his people in Romania. As is the good custom, our guest had a specific proposal, which does not happen often here for us Serbs. We are grateful for this donation – said Krstić.
As he said, he is grateful to Romania for the correct and good relationship with the Serb national minority.
- It is important that our community has a good position, and we will continue to provide stronger support and help to the affirmation of national, cultural and religious identity and the preservation of education and Serbian language - said Dodik.
Dodik was presented a letter of appreciation and read a poem as a sign of gratitude.
Dodik noted that Serbs in Romania preserved their national identity and were proud of and looking at the Republic of Srpska and Serbia. He announced that Days of Serbs from Romania would be organized in the Republic of Srpska.
He also stated that an initiative would be launched in the Republic of Srpska to issue a national identification card to all Serbs from Romania who identify themselves with Srpska.
