The Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, said that Serbs should be gathered and that integration of the Serbian national identity had to be strengthened.

Dodik said that Serbia played the primary role in this, but also that the Republic of Srpska was not without potential.

– Serbs should be gathered. We must be gathered around our states, Serbia and Republic of Srpska, around our values. We are Serbs, we belong to one national body and we want to be respected thus – said Dodik.

Dodik believes that Serbs must deal exclusively with their own interests, reject subservience to any party and try to establish their national interest by saying that they were the greatest sufferers in Europe in the past century.

– We could declare this century the century of our integration; the Republic of Srpska and Serbia could say without hesitation that they want to be united and that this is something that we ask the world to legalize for us. We have to establish that idea to the extent that in the foreseeable future it becomes completely realistic, achievable and necessary – said Dodik.

Dodik added that one needed to stick to strong friends in this such as Hungary; and he also believes that integration in the economic sense will be dominant, stating that in the future it will be at the sub-regional level, rather than the European.

– We are on constant watch, we fight exclusively for our rights, which are known and recognized. We want you to recognize our nation, religion, Church, language, alphabet, the Republic of Srpska and territory, and that we are sovereign there – said Dodik.

Dodik is grateful to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban for the understanding he evinces and for the assistance provided by Hungary during the pandemic, and he also reminded of some new projects related to agriculture.

Dodik believes in what Orban is doing to protect Hungary in terms of energy stability and his not accepting lightly to be a follower of various actions aimed at imposing sanctions on Russia and endangering energy stability.

He added that they implemented the same policy regarding migrants, pointing out that the Republic of Srpska had not accepted to be a parking lot for migrants.

– We did not allow them to stay in the Republic of Srpska, they went to the Bihać region and we see some of them remaining and that is what scares us and we do not want that to happen to us – emphasized Dodik.

Strengthening the cooperation between Hungary, the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, says Dodik, can contribute to stability, and he assessed as great Orban’s idea of gathering and solving problems together, to formalize an energy solidarity community.

Dodik reminded that Srpska intended to build a gas pipeline and two gas-fired power plants, which had been agreed with Gazprom, although that had been interrupted by the current situation, as well as the situation in BiH.

– Time to open all avenues of cooperation – said Dodik and added that he was impressed by how the Serbian community in Hungary was organized.

He added that Hungarian Government’s positions regarding Ukraine were also acceptable, stating that it is a war that no one wanted and should not have happened.

Speaking about BiH, its organization, Dodik said that BiH would not have survived without America, the EU, and that the Republic of Srpska was stable today and demonstrated its ability to function on its own.

– We are big losers because we are in BiH, it is a noose around our neck – said Dodik and added that he advocated the constitutional BiH.

He does not see the future of BiH, but he believes that, if it were to return to the Constitution, it would be a complex state union and serve the Entities and peoples, which is the only meaningful thing.

Dodik believes that the time will come when the Republic of Srpska will be able to declare independence in a certain context.
