The President of the Republic of Srpska, Želјka Cvijanović, said that the cooperation between Srpska and Serbia was extremely important and that it was perhaps the most natural connection in the political, economic and social sense in general, and that it was pleasant to know that it was always possible to rely on Serbia.

Cvijanović said that, among the entire range of specific projects and types of cooperation, special importance lay in the fact that Srpska and Serbia had been marking jointly certain significant dates of their past for several years.

– I think that this is just an additional way to get closer, but also to show how much our joint action and unity exists and functions – Cvijanović pointed out in the collage show which was broadcast on RTRS and RTS as a TV-reception on the occasion of marking the Day of the Republic of Srpska and the day of adoption of the first Constitution of the Republic of Srpska.

She emphasized that development of Serbia was important for the Republic of Srpska, because its strength and power had always been a guarantee for the Republic of Srpska living in peace and being able to develop and have someone to rely on.

– I must say that it is pleasant to know that you always have Serbia that you can rely on. In many situations, Serbia has helped the Republic of Srpska in various ways – said Cvijanović.

She reminded of the implementation of various projects /supported by Serbia/, and added that mutual political understanding was also important.

– It is important to always know that we can count on each other. I think that it is perhaps the biggest political, but also a human and social capital that we have in our hands – said Cvijanović. She reiterated that the connection between Srpska and Serbia was natural and could not be more natural, and that it was a matter of determination to strengthen it in the future as well.

– Naturally, having different ambitions and plans to integrate in every possible way, to work together in the sphere of economy, we will continue in the future to deepen everything we have so far on the common ground – said the President of Srpska. She pointed out that she was really happy, primarily for seeing numerous successes of Serbia and for seeing Serbia position itself not only as the most important country in the region, but also as a country that can match and follow some current trends in Europe.

Cvijanović added that it sufficed to look at the situation regarding vaccines against the coronavirus, and that Srpska should be happy and satisfied that Serbia was constantly among the leading European countries managing to fight the virus most successfully, but also providing its population with what many European countries and EU members have failed to do. She said that a strong Serbia was important for the Republic of Srpska, and that she was also sure that a strong and stable Republic of Srpska was important for Serbia.

– That is why we work together and we are determined to strengthen our stability, but also for all our generations that will come in the future, as well as for ourselves, to develop and create the preconditions for them to develop in peace and stability – said Cvijanović.
