Minister without portfolio in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the field of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the diaspora, Đorđe Milićević, visited Aleksandrovac yesterday, where he discussed the project of themed summer camps for children from the diaspora with the Mayor, Jelena Paunović.
Milićević said that 22 summer camps had gathered 5,000 young people last year, adding that the plan for this year was to have at least 10,000 children from all over the world visit Serbia through those camps.
The Minister said that 21,000 of our compatriots had returned to Serbia from the diaspora last year, which is a sufficient indicator that our country is strong and stable today.
He explained that the aim to repatriate permanently as many of our people as possible had led to designing the summer camps project, targeting the third and fourth generation of emigrants.
Milićević also announced the organization of investment conferences where our local governments would present their potential to successful businessmen from the diaspora.
