The Head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia, Mlađen Cicović, said that he considered the Gold Medal of Merit presented to him today by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, on the occasion of Serbia’s Statehood Day, a recognition for the good relations between Srpska and Serbia, which had never been better.

‘This decoration is primarily a decoration for those who have worked together with me all these years on promoting the Republic of Srpska and presenting everything that the Republic of Srpska is today and what it wants to be in the future’, said Cicović.

He pointed out that this was a recognition also for all cultural institutions from Srpska and Serbia, scientific and publishing institutions and those who have worked together with him and the Representation to encourage and strengthen relations between Srpska and Serbia, on implementing all projects related to preserving the identity, culture, tradition, customs and faith of the Serbian people, and for establishing a culture of remembrance.

‘Finally, it is also a confirmation to me that all these years that I have been working contribute in their entirety to Srpska and Serbia. I think the most important thing is that this is a recognition for the good relations between the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, which have never been better than in the last ten years’, Cicović said.

He pointed out that all that work that had resulted in this recognition would not have been possible without full support of the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and leadership of the Republic of Srpska.

‘It is particularly important that this is also a recognition for what we have done in the past period, which are programs and projects on never-more-urgent all-Serbian unity and sobornost, because only united and collected, only if we respect ourselves, will we be able to respect others and build the future together with all of them,’ said Cicović.
