Assistant Minister of European Integration, Helena Krnetić, PhD, met with Đorđe Milićević, Minister without Portfolio in the Government of Serbia, responsible for monitoring the situation, proposing measures and participating in the coordination of activities in the field of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the diaspora.
The cooperation between the two institutions is based, among other things, on the signed Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of strengthening ties with the diaspora. The Memorandum sets forth that the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska will work to strengthen ties with the diaspora worldwide, strengthen diaspora’s trust in institutions, involve the diaspora in economic and social development, and raise awareness among the domestic public about the importance and potential of the diaspora.
This meeting was an opportunity to review the joint activities carried out so far in the field of diaspora and to analyze the results achieved through cooperation of the two institutions.
Also, the commitment to continue cooperation in the future was confirmed, through participation in and organization of joint projects and events, such as various gatherings, thematic camps and marking important dates for the Republic of Srpska and the Republic of Serbia.
