The conference entitled Partnership – Investments – Sustainable Development, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, was held in Banja Luka.
The conference was organized in cooperation with Srpska’s Business Friendly Environment Network, which consists of the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government, the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship, and the Association of Local Authorities of the Republic of Srpska.
The goal of the conference is economic development and attracting foreign investors in local communities throughout Srpska.
The Government of the Republic of Srpska will continue to provide numerous benefits for launching new investments in local communities in the coming period, said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Savo Minić.
During the Partnership-Investments-Sustainable Development conference dedicated to the BFC certification of municipalities and cities, Prime Minister Minić recalled that, due to the numerous benefits offered by Srpska, several large production facilities from several European countries had opened in the last few months alone.
– In addition to the favorable electricity price, we also encourage new investments with many other benefits, including the transfer of ownership of construction plots without compensation – said Minić and pointed out that, in the last three years alone, the economy had been supported with BAM 103 million, through various forms of subsidies.
He also expressed his expectation that business conferences, such as this one, would have a positive impact on further improving the favorable business environment, which is a key prerequisite for launching new investments.
The conference Partnership – Investments – Sustainable Development was attended by Assistant Minister for International Cooperation Nemanja Kovačević.
A positive example of participation in such conferences is the city of Laktaši, which has achieved positive, multi-million results in the economy.
The conference also included a ceremony to award certificates to local communities that have met the requirements of the BFC SEE standard for a favorable business environment.
At the conference, the Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government of the Republic of Srpska, Senka Jujić, presented BFC SEE certificates for a favorable business environment to local self-government units that had completed successfully the certification process.
The following municipalities and cities received the certificates: Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Brod, Gradiška, Istočna Ilidža, Laktaši, Novi Grad, Prijedor, Prnjavor and Teslić.
During the conference, agreements were signed to launch new BFC certification processes with the local communities of Derventa, Trebinje, Doboj, Zvornik, Modriča and Čelinac, thus continuing support for improving the business environment and strengthening the competitiveness of local communities in the Republic of Srpska.
Minister Jujić said that the BFC SEE certification process was a significant step in creating conditions for attracting investments and improving the work of local governments, and that the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government would continue to provide support to local communities in the implementation of these activities.
