On Sunday, at the premises of the SCSC Sloga in Stuttgart the presidents and representatives of 25 cultural and artistic societies from Germany, Switzerland and Austria had a meeting with the founder of the Serbian Diaspora Youth Festival Brojanica, held every year in the Italian province of Trento.

The founder of this festival, Đorđe Milanović, came to the meeting from Italy with the aim of connecting the work of our cultural and artistic societies in the European diaspora through participation in the folklore festival next year in May.

In the end, it was jointly stated that the present society representatives supported participation in the festival; and written support was received from ten more societies whose representatives were unable to attend the meeting in Stuttgart.

During the talks, it was stated that Brojanica was a Serbian folklore festival of non-competitive nature where the main goal was to bring together our societies, mutual cooperation and socializing, which was also discussed by Đorđe Milanović.

– The goal of Brojanica is connection and cooperation between our cultural and artistic societies in the diaspora through nurturing and preserving our culture, tradition and faith. We are preparing next year’s Brojanica expecting the participation of 32 of our societies from ten European countries. We invite all our societies, regardless of whether they participate in folklore festivals and competitions, to come to Trento to socialize and show that cooperation and unity of Serbian cultural and artistic societies in the diaspora is possible. We are thus leaving something very valuable for the future to our youth in the diaspora. All participants of this meeting gave their support to the Serbian Diaspora Youth Festival Brojanica and announced their participation in Trento next year. If the agreed and planned tasks and goals are achieved, it will be the path to creating an umbrella organization that will bring together our cultural and artistic societies from European countries – said Đorđe Milanović.
