There are about 30 representatives of Austrian companies visiting Trebinje, for whom meetings have been organized with businessmen from Herzegovina, representatives of the city of Trebinje, Chamber of Commerce and institutions of the Republic of Srpska.
In cooperation with the Austrian-Serbian Economic Forum, the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Austria is organizing a meeting of Austrian and local businessmen in Trebinje from 17 to 19 August with the aim of promoting the investment potential of the Republic of Srpska and strengthening economic ties with Austria.
– The business meetings are organized during the celebration of the city of Trebinje’s Slava, the Holy Transfiguration of the Lord, so we expect a large number of representatives of companies from the Republic of Srpska and constructive meetings with representatives of our institutions. Trebinje will receive our diaspora representatives, successful businessmen and representatives of Austrian companies, in addition to Radivoje Petrikić, president of the Austrian-Serbian Economic Forum. The event organization was supported by the mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić – said Mladen Filipović, head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Austria.
Trebinje business meetings are a continuation of activities on promoting the Republic of Srpska potential, continuously carried out by the Republic of Srpska’s Austrian Representation, announced this office.
Austrian businessmen interested in investing in the Republic of Srpska.
Austrian businessmen intend to speak with their colleagues from Srpska, especially from Herzegovina, which is the center of tourism and wine production. This is a fast-growing field all over the world, so also an opportunity for Srpska.
– Here I not only have the opportunity to meet certain businessmen in person, to have a direct relationship with them, but also to establish new networks and new communication at that level, which will surely be useful and mutually satisfying – said Andreas Sael, wine producer and restaurant owner from Vienna.
Although Srpska products are already on the shelves of some supermarkets in Austria, many producers have many quality products worthy of the European market. From Herzegovina, in addition to wines and medicinal herbs, but also meat and dairy products.
– With these contacts, I think we can establish some specific steps so that a portion of Herzegovinian products can find its place on Austrian shelves, just as certain products from Krajina are now widely represented on the shelves of Austrian supermarkets – said Duško Pantović, president of Trebinje Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Austrian restaurateurs, businessmen in food, metal and wood processing industries are interested in cooperation.
In Trebinje, they see potential even for the development of film industry.
– On the other hand, the Austrians noticing the potential, even such a visit is a success. When they see the business community is very active, the contacts are good, they decide to open their own companies. We expect that to happen – said Mladen Filipović, head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Austria.
Srpska having friends in the world who are ready to invest is evidenced also by many infrastructure projects that are being implemented.
– We endeavor really to work with our friends, who are not subjects, who do not take orders from one power center, but have their own decisions and decision-making, so we build motorways, build hydropower plants, build everything that we have envisioned throughout the Republic of Srpska – said Radovan Višković, Srpska’s Prime Minister.
The activities started more than a year ago in Austria within the Austrian-Serbian Economic Forum, with the support of Srpska’s Representation in Austria, are yielding results.
