The Union of Serbs of Slovenia organized a Slovenian premiere of the film Dara from Jasenovac on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of Holocaust, Genocide and other WWII Fascism Victims. This event was held at the Maribor Cineplexx cinema.

At the beginning, Vladimir Kokanović, President of the Union of Serbs of Slovenia, Andrija Jorgić, director of the company Borba, and Lena Grgurevič, Slovenian Parliament member and chair of the Serbia-Slovenia friendship group in the Slovenian Parliament, addressed the present.

This event was also attended by priest Goran Šljivić, elder of the Celje Serbian Orthodox Church, director of the Maribor Synagogue Boris Hajdinjak, president of the Slovenian Roma Association Jožek Horvat Muc, director of the National Liberation War Museum Simona Tripkovič, representative of the Belgrade Center for Responsible Media Marko Matić, representatives of the National Liberation War veterans’ organizations from Slovenia, representatives of Serb societies from Slovenia and many others.

We are very happy to have celebrated this important day in such numbers, together with representatives of the Slovenian Roma and Jewish communities, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and numerous members of Serb societies in Slovenia, and to have sent the message that together we would preserve the memory of the Holocaust, genocide and other fascism victims.

We must not forget the sacrifice made by our people in Jasenovac, Donja Gradina and numerous other camps.
