Representatives of the Alliance of Serbs of Slovenia and the Organization of Serbian Students Abroad signed a memorandum of cooperation yesterday in Belgrade, defining specific forms of future joint cooperation and work.
The Memorandum emphasizes that the two parties share common interests and values in connecting the Serbian community in Slovenia, preserving Serbian tradition and culture among youth, and developing student life in Slovenia. It provides for organizing joint educational, cultural and artistic events of mutual interest, as well as implementing jointly the projects of strategic importance for the Serbian community in Slovenia, primarily in the field of affirmation of Serbian Cyrillic script, language, cultural and historical tradition among youth in Slovenia.
As the President of the Serbs’ Alliance, Vladimir Kokanović, MA, noted on that occasion, the goal of the joint cooperation of both organizations is to connect Serbian youth in Slovenia and encourage mutual cooperation between Serbian and Slovenian student and youth organizations.
‘Our task is to create conditions for the unity of all Serbs from Slovenia. The Memorandum that we signed today with the Organization of Serbian Students Abroad also serves that noble intention. We believe that young people, primarily our students, are an important link in deepening the ties between the Serbian and Slovenian people, and that is why we are looking forward to all the joint activities we plan in the future,’ Kokanović emphasized.
