The President of the Republic of Srpska, Želјka Cvijanović, extended congratulations to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the state leadership and all citizens on the occasion of Sretenje – Serbian Statehood Day, emphasizing that the leadership of Srpska and its citizens see economically strong and politically stable Serbia as their hope and strongest support, and perceive and feel each its holiday as their own.
– Dear President, I take this opportunity to express once again my gratitude to the institutions of Serbia for the numerous projects implemented in the Republic of Srpska, as well as for the valuable assistance provided to local health institutions in the fight against the coronavirus – said Cvijanović in her greeting addressed on her behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Srpska.
She congratulated Vučić on all the results that Serbia had achieved in the vaccination process, on the sovereignty shown in the procurement of vaccines, as well as on the immunization process itself, reckoning that this had ranked Serbia among the most successful countries in the world, reads the statement from the Office of the President of the Republic of Srpska.
– In the belief that Serbia, as a factor of regional stability, will continue on the path of success in all areas, and that our institutional and fraternal ties will be even stronger and more meaningful, for the benefit of all our citizens, I cordially salute you – says Cvijanović's greeting.
Tomorrow, Serbia celebrates its Statehood Day, commemorating two important events in its history that took place on Sretenje, 15 February 1804 and 1835 – the First Serbian Uprising and the Sretenje Constitution, one of the most democratic constitutions in the 19th century.
