On Sunday, 2 June 2024, the final performance of the Serbian supplementary school Jovan Miletić was held in the Church of Saint Spyridon in Trieste. More than a hundred students performed, reciting and singing about the Serbian language, the Cyrillic alphabet and Orthodoxy.
The president of the Trieste Serbian Orthodox Church Municipality, Zlatimir Selaković, welcomed the guests which included: Ljubica Mihajlović from the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Trieste, Lidija Radovanović, president of the Association of Serbs in Italy, Marina Savić and Tamara Antonijević, president and vice-president of the Serbian cultural and artistic society Pontes Mostovi from Trieste, president and secretary of the Association Vuk Stefanović Karadžić from Trieste, Maja Berović, president of the Cultural Association of Serbian Youth from Trieste.
The Learning Makes You Grow final event for the 2023/24 school year of the Serbian language supplementary school of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia for the teaching places of Sochaux, Belfort and Mulhouse in Eastern France was held in Belfort on 22 June 2024. A joint exhibition of art works by students of Sveti Sava elementary school from Toponica, Knić and students of the supplementary school was opened on this occasion. The students, who are also members of the Božur folklore section in Belfort, performed several folk dances.
‘This was also an opportunity to thank the collaborators who supported our work during the school year: Republic of Serbia Consulate in Strasbourg and Consul Slavoljub Carić, St George Parish Strasbourg – protopriest Petar Lukić, St Archangel Michael Parish Mulhouse – hieromonk Maksim Ilić, Nikola Tesla Club Mulhouse – Milo Bratuljević, and French-Serbian Friendship Association Belfort – Radovan Perić,’ said the teacher Zorica Sorak.
On Saturday, 29 June 2024, the final event for the end of the school year was organized in the town hall in Arenthon. The event was attended by students of the Serbian supplementary school, their parents and members of the Devet Jugovića association. At the final event in Strasbourg, the following program was performed: Kapetan Džon Piplfoks by Duško Radović, Zamislite deco by Duško Radović, Plavi čuperak by Miroslav Antić and Muzika na struju by Bajaga. On the eve of Vidovdan, students in Dijon ended this school year with the ceremonial awarding of report cards, commendations, diplomas and books. Students of the Lyon Serbian supplementary school finished this school year with a lesson dedicated to Vidovdan.
