Prime Minister Radovan Višković organized a reception today in Banja Luka for more than 400 children from Kosovo and Metohija currently visiting the Republic of Srpska.

Višković pointed out that institutions of the Republic of Srpska opened the door to their children from Kosovo and Metohija.

– You must know that we have opened our hearts and homes to you. By coming to Banja Luka and Republic of Srpska, you should create new camaraderie, friendship, companionship to keep in your memory forever – said Višković to the children during the reception at the Administrative Center of the Government.

Višković thanked the municipalities and cities of the Republic of Srpska which are hosting the children and their teachers this year.

– Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we could not see each other last year, but now the conditions have been created for our ninth gathering. Your coming to Srpska is very important, so that you know that outside your area, your Kosovo and Metohija, which is also ours, you have friends who follow what is happening in Zvečan, in Gračanica, in all places where Serbs live – Višković pointed out.

Višković said that joint struggle should enable Serbs to survive and stay where their ancestors had lived.

– The Committee for Assistance to Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija is doing everything to help make life in Kosovo and Metohija bearable. Our hearts are always open to you, as more than 5,000 children who have visited Srpska during the past nine years adequately prove – Višković emphasized.

The Minister of Education and Culture, Natalija Trivić, pointed out that it was a pleasure to host about 450 children from Kosovo and Metohija and their teachers this year as well.

– It is a continuation of wide cooperation between the educational institutions of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia. We want them to enjoy Srpska in the coming days, and we will do our best to be good hosts – said Trivić.

The head of the Committee for Assistance to Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, Milorad Arlov, pointed out that children with special needs from the Support Me Association were also part of this year’s action.

He thanked everyone for the support to this important project, which had been going on since 2012, and stated that this year the children were staying in Prijedor, Jezero, Brčko, Prnjavor, Trebinje, Čelinac, Šamac, Brod and Milići.

According to him, this project means connecting the same people, the same faith, the same torment and suffering.

– You are the greatest value in Kosovo and Metohija, the pillar of survival of Kosmet is founded on you – Arlov said to the children at the reception.

The reception was also attended by the consul general of Serbia in Banja Luka, Vesna Marinković, ministers in the Government of Srpska, and representatives of the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, who performed a suitable program for children from Kosovo and Metohija on the occasion of World Music Day.
