Last weekend in Klagenfurt, the Austrian Association of Serbian Folklore (AASF) held the 40th Festival of Cultural and Artistic Creativity of Serbs in Austria, where the Vienna SCC Stevan Mokranjac was once again crowned the champion of Austria.
The packed hall saw participation of 15 societies from all over Austria in the Festival, and Ostrog CAS from Linz and Kosta Vujić SCAS from Salzburg also participated in the non-competition segment. The expert jury, consisting of Mirjana Zakić, PhD, Igor Gudić and Ivan Terzić, PhD, had a very difficult task.
‘I am very proud of all our companies that left their hearts and souls on stage last evening and, to the last atom of energy, demonstrated their exceptional knowledge of Serbian folklore in the best possible way. I would also like to congratulate all the artistic directors on their progress in research work and creativity in choreographies, but also on the general improvement in the quality of the presentation of customs and songs in choreographies,’ said AASF President Aleksandar Saša Stanković, adding his special gratitude to the hosts of the 40th Festival – Zavičaj SCS Klagenfurt, who did everything in their power to ensure the Festival’s unfolding at a high level.
In addition to many society representatives, the Festival was attended by the guests of honor protoiereus Ljubomir Radovanov, representative of the Serbian Embassy in Austria Batrić Brajović, president of the Association of Serbian Societies in Slovenia Milan Glamočanin, representative of the Union of Serbs of Romania Dejan Adnađ, president of the Lower Austria Association of Societies Ranka Savić, Cultural and Sports Community of Serbs in Salzburg, and many other representatives of societies from all over Austria.
