This year again, the cultural and sports association Bambi from Vienna organized Bambi’s evening of Serbian tradition and culture, a humanitarian event to raise funds for the restoration of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Austrian capital.
The event held before a large audience in the hall of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was a unique display of Serbian culture. The audience could enjoy a rich program which included listening to spiritual music, followed by performance of traditional songs with a folk orchestra, and presentation of choreographies and dancing skills of the four youngest folklore ensembles of the Bambi association to the audience.
The audience could also enjoy traditional Serbian specialties, as well as a show and presentation of national costumes.
– This year again, Bambi’s evening of Serbian tradition and culture was held in the church. The cooperation between our association and the Serbian Orthodox Church in Austria is at a high level and we are holding our event here with the blessing of Bishop Andrej and clergy of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We attach high importance to the cooperation with our church, which is inextricably linked to the preservation of tradition, identity and folklore. We organize Bambi’s evening of Serbian culture and tradition wishing to present the work of our association while socializing, but also to raise funds for the restoration of this temple located in the 16th district of Vienna, which is also our home municipality – says Aleksandar Stanković, the president of the cultural and sports association Bambi.
Bambi’s evening of Serbian tradition and culture has been held since 2019.
