As part of the second Swedish-Norwegian-Serbian Literary Evenings, organized by the Serbian Association of Sweden and the Association of Serbian Artists of Scandinavia, the cities of Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg, Malmö, Västerås and Halmstad were presented the historical project of the Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska, dedicated to the systematic recording and archiving of all available testimonies about the suffering of the Serbian people.

The Director of the Memorial Center, Denis Bojić, introduced those present in all cities to the mission and importance of the Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska and said that presenting Serbian suffering around the world was of utmost importance not only for the sake of the generations growing up in the diaspora, but also to establish the possibility of a fair presentation of truth about the suffering of Serbs within the European and global media space.

He stated that the testimonies collected by the Memorial Center had universal value as a document of the struggle for truth, justice and dignity of every victim.

Representatives of the Serbian Association of Sweden and the Association of Serbian Artists of Scandinavia expressed their gratitude for such an argued and documented account of the suffering of Serbs being available to our people in Scandinavia, as a lasting testimony of truth and warning.

The meeting was hosted by Jelena Mila (Serbian Association of Sweden) and Branko Dimović Dimeski (Association of Serbian Artists of Scandinavia).

The event was held in cooperation with the Serbian Association of Sweden and the Association of Serbian Artists of Scandinavia, with the support of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Embassies of the Republic of Serbia in Sweden and Norway, and numerous cultural institutions and media.

The program featured many Serbian, Swedish and Norwegian artists from various fields.

Among others, the guests included Serbian Ambassador to Norway, Dr. Jasmina Mitrović Marić, and representative of the Norwegian Ministry of Culture, Haakon Winje.

The program also featured screening of the documentary The Witness in all cities, which deals with the suffering of Serbs in the former Yugoslavia and is based on the work of the late Professor Dr. Zoran Stanković.

The film was realized in co-production with Radio Television of the Republic of Srpska and the Republic Center for Research of War, War Crimes and Search for Missing Persons, as a significant authentic contribution to the culture of remembrance and the preservation of historical truth.
