The twelfth Days of Srpska in Serbia event will open officially on 20 September at the National Theater in Belgrade, and programs from Srpska will be presented in 12 Serbian cities.
The Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia, which is the organizer, expects this year’s event to be opened by Srpska’s President Milorad Dodik with the blessing of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, and to be honored with the presence of many distinguished guests.
The Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Serbia, Mlađen Cicović, said that this event would contribute to the preservation of the Serbian national identity, language, script, Orthodox faith, culture and tradition through various programs.
He stated that the program of this year’s opening would be a story about the Serbian people’s sobornost inspired by the idea of the Pan-Serbian Assembly, held on 8 June in Belgrade.
– The message that we will send from the opening ceremony and from all the programs of this year’s Srpska Days in Serbia event is that we have never needed unity and sobornost more – said Cicović.
He emphasized that the event’s very rich cultural program would be strengthened by the accompanying program within the Republic of Srpska-Serbia businessmen meeting, where Srpska’s investment offer would be presented for potential investors from Serbia.
– We will place special emphasis at these business meetings on the cooperation of small and medium-sized enterprises of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia. The host cities will be visited by delegations of cities and municipalities from Republic of Srpska that have signed agreements on cooperation and twinning with cities and municipalities in Serbia, led by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Srpska and Srpska’s Representation in Serbia – said Cicović.
According to the program, on 21 September, Srpska Days in Serbia will be held in Kragujevac, Kraljevo and Subotica.
The closing ceremony of the Days of Srpska in Serbia event will be held in the Cultural Center in Zrenjanin on Thursday, 26 September.
