This year, the Cyrillic Museum in Rača near Bajina Bašta organized the first Roots and Wings cultural and educational camp for children from the region and the diaspora, in which schoolchildren from the Republic of Srpska also participated.

Mia Božanović from Istočno Sarajevo said that young people had come to Rača primarily to preserve tradition and pass it on to future generations, but also to socialize and make new friends.

Anđela Babić from Višegrad stated that she was most interested in new work, learning, all the workshops and socializing, while Damjan Radović from Bijeljina said that he was particularly interested in playing basketball.

Camp coordinator Petar Čolić said that the goals of the camp were socializing of young people from the diaspora and the region with young people living in Serbia.

‘Naturally, all this implies a series of workshops, or thematic units, which will primarily relate to cultural and historical heritage, the Serbian language and Cyrillic script, and of course some excursions,’ he said.
