In the spirit of Saintsavaism and preservation of the Serbian language and culture, the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Greece, together with the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Thessaloniki, the Hilandar Monastery and Theophilos Serbian Charitable Society celebrated the end of program of the Saint Simon the Myroblyte Serbian Language School for Children and Adults.
The program lasted three months, and offered more than 60 Greeks from all over Greece the opportunity to learn and improve their Serbian language in an organized and professional manner, with professor Marijana Milunović.
At the opening ceremony, the Head of the Representation, Jelena Jovanović, noted the importance of preserving the mother tongue as one of the foundations of national identity, and extended gratitude to all who had helped organize this important initiative, namely Serbian Consulate in Thessaloniki, Hilandar Monastery, and Theophilos Serbian Charitable Society.
Special gratitude was also expressed to our Greek friends who had decided to learn Serbian and thus contribute to strengthening the unbreakable ties between the Serbian and Greek peoples. Their desire to learn more about Serbian culture, history, and tradition is the greatest proof of the true friendship that we have nurtured for centuries. We believe that this school will be another bridge that will bring us even closer and deepen our fraternal cooperation.
May Saint Sava continue to guide us on the path of knowledge, unity, and spirituality!
