Representatives of the Serbian Literary Cooperative, one of the renowned and oldest publishing institutions in Serbia, presented today a Plaque of Gratitude for support and cooperation to the Head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia.
Receiving the plaque on behalf of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Serbia and its head, Borislav Maksimović, cultural associate at the Representation, told Srna that it was a special honor to receive recognition from an institution that had been working to spread Serbian culture and literature for more than a century.
‘We will continue our good cooperation with the Serbian Literary Cooperative aimed at preserving Serbian culture and art, as well as developing relations between Serbia and the Republic of Srpska,’ he said.
The president of the Serbian Literary Cooperative, Milovan Danojlić, said that from the very beginnings, this institution had been focused on all Serbs and friends of the Serbian people.
‘At the time when Serbia was a principality, 40 percent of our subscribers were from the former Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, i.e. from BiH, Croatia, Slavonia and even from Trieste. Without the support and reputation among our people, it I would not have survived all these difficult, war and inter-war years,’ he said.
The Plaque of Gratitude to the Head of the Representation and the Representation was awarded as part of the solemn portion of the 103rd Assembly of the Serbian Literary Cooperative.
