The Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Russia invites writers from the Republic of Srpska to participate in the project Petersburg Reading: Choosing the Best Foreign Writer.

The project was launched in 2009 by the Central City Public Library V. V. Mayakovsky in St. Petersburg in order to draw attention to the works of contemporary foreign writers.

The project includes two nominations:

– Best foreign writer, whose works have not been published in Russian translation,

– Best foreign writer, whose works have been published in Russian translation.

The project includes holding of video conferences, a translation competition, and actors from St. Petersburg theaters reading excerpts from translated works during the Summer Readings.

In Russia, the year 2023 has been declared the year of pedagogues and teachers, and therefore it is desirable that the subject of the submitted book be related to the role of a teacher.

Participation is free of charge.

The deadline is 10 December 2022.
