The Institute for the Improvement of Education and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia organized and held systemic training for teachers seconded abroad and delivering educational work in the Serbian language for students of Serbian origin living abroad temporarily or permanently and having opted for this type of classes.

This three-day training was held on 24, 25 and 26 July 2024 in Belgrade. The program was officially opened by Minister of Education prof. Dr Slavica Đukić Dejanović and director of the Institute Dr Zlatko Grušanović. On that occasion, the significance was highlighted of continuous joint action on developing awareness of the importance of the Serbian language in preserving national and cultural identity and establishing lasting ties with the fatherland.

The program included the 2024 Easter competition awards ceremony and colleagues’ recognition for dedication, long-term work and contribution to the quality of teaching in Serbian abroad.

Event organizers were experts from the academic community, educational practice, Ministry of Education and IIE.

The program consists of 24 hours of professional training, is free for participants, and available online for those who were unable to attend it in person.
