On 29 June 2023, the Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, participated in a conference on opportunities for business and investment in the Republic of Srpska, held in the premises of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economy in Stuttgart.

The conference discussed experience exchange, connecting the economies of the Republic of Srpska and Baden-Württemberg, and opportunities for German companies to do business in Srpska. The conference was attended by five German companies from the metal industry and several other companies from different sectors.

Minister Klokić presented the attendees, which included representatives of five German companies from the field of metal industry, the reasons that made the Republic of Srpska interesting for foreign investments, especially the reduced operating costs, which made us the most competitive in the region. These, he said, concern tax rates, electricity prices, transport costs, as well as labor quality-cost ratio.

He told the attendees that the Republic of Srpska was trying to reduce the barriers to doing business existing with other adjacent countries, especially regarding border crossings, recognition of qualifications and easier obtaining of work permits. That is why, he concluded, we strongly support regional initiatives that contribute to this, such as the Berlin Process and the Open Balkan.

In addition to Minister Klokić, the conference was attended by the head of the Southeast Europe Department of the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce, Barbara Effenberger, the president of the Republic of Srpska Chamber of Commerce, Pero Ćorić, and Mićo Ćetković, head of the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Germany, the organizer of today’s conference.
