The office of the minister without portfolio in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the field of relations with the diaspora is organizing the event Unity and Strength – Serbia in the House of the National Assembly in Belgrade on 31 August and 1 September 2024.

The gathering will be attended by 250 representatives of the associations and organizations that bring together the Serbian diaspora around the world, in addition to representatives of Serbs from the countries of the region.

The Serbian Government’s minister without portfolio in charge of relations with the diaspora, Đorđe Milićević, said earlier that the gathering was expected to be attended by the state leadership of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, as well as the leadership of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The minister then announced discussion of several important topics, including Economic potentials of Serbia EXPO 2027 – Leap into the future 2027 and role of the diaspora, The role of the diaspora in the process of preserving cultural, educational, national and religious identity, and The role of the diaspora in strengthening the international reputation of the Republic of Serbia and preserving national and state interests.

Milićević pointed out that it was important for Serbs, wherever they live, to be aware of the importance of unity and the united action of Serbia and Republic of Srpska, as well as the protection of the rights of compatriots in the region.
