The cultural and sports association Bambi is a recipient of the Plaque for contribution to the development of the cultural life and wealth of the city of Vienna and the municipality of Ottakring. Our club received this award from the hands of the Mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig, and the President of the Vienna’s 16th municipality, Franz Prokop, at the opening of the traditional Ottakringer Kirtag event. On that occasion, Bambi’s folklore ensemble performed a pastoral for all the present. Incidentally, the 16th municipality of Vienna is also the home municipality of our association.

– We are honoured by this award, which was presented to us by the Mayor of Vienna, Ludwig, and Prokop, the president of our municipality 16. This award confirms that we are making a significant contribution to our coexistence, both in our home municipality and in the city of Vienna. At the same time, we took the opportunity to invite the first man of the Austrian capital to our future events, and to visit us in the premises of our association – says Aleksandar Stanković, president of Bambi CSA.

He adds that the plaque is a further motivation for everyone in the association to engage even more in the preservation and presentation of Serbian tradition and culture, which they do every day.

Bambi is one of the oldest Serbian associations in Vienna, founded in 1973, which gathers more than 600 members in several sections such as: folklore, football, fishing and music.

They will celebrate their 50 years in December

– In the coming period, we are expecting another Bambi evening of culture and tradition, supported by the Ministry without portfolio in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the field of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the diaspora. After that, we have performances with our friends, we are also preparing our Winter Football Tournament and to put a stamp on all our activities, the jubilee celebration on the occasion of our 50th anniversary, to take place at the beginning of December – adds Stanković.
