The Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, said that the film Heroes of Halyard was proof that the Serbian people had always been champions of freedom, and that art was one of the ways to make the wider public aware of that.
Klokić stated that the film’s script was based on a true event when Serbs had saved more than 500 American pilots in the Second World War and indicated that Serbs and Americans had been on the same side then.
‘This proves that the Serbian people have always been champions of freedom and that they share the same true values as the American people, and it is very important to shatter the existing perception of us by positive stories from history, such as this one about the Halyard mission,’ Klokić said.
In Washington, Klokić attended the premiere of the film Heroes of Halyard, directed by Radoš Bajić, held in the hall of the US Congress on Capitol Hill.
