Bijeljina choir Srbadija under the baton of Jelena and Desanka Trakilović won a gold and silver medal at the 10th Isola del Sole International Choir Competition in the Italian city of Grado.

Srbadija won a gold medal in the category of folklore and a silver medal in the category of sacred choral music.

The jury consisting of eminent world experts and conductors – Katalin Kiss from Hungary, Mario Lanaro from Italy, and Andre van der Merwe from South Africa, highly praised the competitive performances of Srbadija choir in both categories, rating them as very authentic and diverse.

The awards were won in a strong competition from choirs from all over the world, including Ecuador, Mexico, Malaysia, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Austria.

The competition was organized by the world’s leading organization in the field of choral competitions and festivals Interkultur-Musica Mundi.
