At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, the director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, Arnaud Gouillon, received representatives of the European Association of Serbian Folklore Ensembles who had arrived in Belgrade this weekend from Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria and Croatia.
‘Folklore ensembles functioning under the auspices of the European Association of Serbian Folklore Ensembles bring together over 80,000 children from our diaspora who are taught about the most beautiful traditions of the Serbian people and enabled to get to know each other and socialize in the Serbian language. We spoke about the possibility of organizing a central folklore festival of all folklore ensembles from Europe in Serbia in 2023. In realizing this great idea, we as the Directorate will provide maximum support and concrete help. Because Serbia should take care of those who represent it in the most beautiful way in the world!’ – said Director Gouillon. For years, the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region has been providing financial and institutional support to Serbian folklore ensembles in the region and the Diaspora.
