Zurich hosted the 26th Children’s Festival of Serbian Folklore in Switzerland, which was officially opened by Vladimir Kokanović, Director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region.
This traditional event brought together many guests, parents, representatives of cultural and artistic societies and young folklorists, giving a strong example of nurturing Serbian culture beyond the borders of the homeland.
The festival is more than a cultural event – it is a bridge that connects generations and continents, by preserving Serbian identity through dance, song, music and costumes. The young participants showed exceptional talent and love for tradition, confirming that Serbian culture in the diaspora lives on and is being passed on to new generations.
At the opening ceremony, Kokanović said: ‘Dear children, you are the best ambassadors of our tradition. Every step, every sound and every embroidery on the costume is part of the great mosaic of Serbian heritage.’
Special gratitude was extended to parents, folklore teachers and all enthusiasts who work tirelessly on culture preservation, as well as to the hosts who contributed to the successful organization of the event.
