The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, said today in Orašac that the Day of the Statehood of Serbia was seen as a joint holiday in the Republic of Srpska.
– In the Republic of Srpska, we celebrate this day as our own. We look at Serbia as the motherland. Serbia gives us guarantees and refuge, Serbia is here to offer us comfort, help, encouragement, incentive, and to show that only the fight for the interests of the Serbian people wherever it may be, has justification – Dodik said at the central event marking the Statehood Day of Serbia, extending congratulations to the citizens and leadership of Serbia.
Dodik pointed out that Serbs had always brought freedom to other nations, and that ‘our ancestors had laid the foundations of what is today a modern civilization.’
– We meet here and celebrate our shared holiday, a holiday dedicated to the First Serbian Uprising, the day when Serbs started the uprising in the dedicated fight for freedom and commenced building Serbian statehood and freedom for all those living here – he said.
Dodik said that Serbs today had two states – Republic of Srpska and Serbia.
– Serbia which is the guarantor of peace and security, which we love and rejoice in all its progress, Serbia which is the guarantor of the survival of all Serbs – Dodik emphasized and thanked Serbia for its help to Srpska and understanding.
He pointed out that Serbia was the guarantor of peace, the state that was being built and moving forward under the leadership of President Aleksandar Vučić.
Dodik said that Serbs had their national red lines of freedom and state, which they did not want to lose, but wanted to build and leave them to their descendants.
