The Serb member and Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, wished a happy Orthodox New Year 2021 to all those who celebrate this holiday according to the Julian calendar.

– I wish you all a lot of health, joy and success and that the New Year brings progress and prosperity – said Dodik in his greeting.

Dodik wished stronger faith in the future, mutual trust, solidarity and understanding in all people in 2021, and that the whole world would defeat the coronavirus pandemic, which had taken many lives, said the cabinet of the Serb member and Chairman of the BiH Presidency.

– I wish you to spend this holiday in good health and mood with your loved ones and may the upcoming New Year bring you progress, personal and family happiness – said Dodik.

The Serbian, Russian and Georgian Orthodox Churches, the Mount Athos and the Jerusalem Patriarchate, which observe the Julian calendar, will welcome the New Year at midnight.

On 14 January according to the Gregorian calendar, or 1 January according to the Julian calendar, these churches celebrate the Circumcision of Jesus Christ and the feast of St. Basil the Great.
